The Bull Temple, also known as Dodda Basavana Gudi, is one of Bangalore’s oldest and most famous temples. Located in Basavanagudi, it is dedicated to Nandi, the sacred bull and vehicle of Lord Shiva. The temple houses a huge monolithic statue of Nandi, carved from a single granite rock, which attracts devotees and tourists alike. The atmosphere here is calm and spiritual, with the sweet scent of flowers and incense filling the air. Every year, the famous Kadalekai Parishe (Groundnut Fair) is celebrated around the temple, adding a festive charm to this historic landmark.
