Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, is one of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this beautiful five-storey palace is made of pink sandstone and designed with 953 small jharokhas (windows). These windows were crafted to let cool breeze flow through the palace, keeping it naturally airy even during Jaipur’s hot summers.
The structure looks like a honeycomb and is a perfect example of Rajput and Mughal-style architecture. From inside, you get lovely views of the old city, colourful markets, and busy streets of Jaipur. Hawa Mahal is not just a monument—it’s a symbol of Jaipur’s royal history, architectural brilliance, and vibrant culture. It’s a must-visit spot for travellers who love heritage, photography, and unique architectural designs.
