Om Banna Temple, Pali—also known as the Bullet Baba Temple—is one of Rajasthan’s most unique and fascinating religious sites. Located near Chotila village on the Pali–Jodhpur Highway (NH-62), this temple is dedicated to Om Singh Rathore, a local Rajput youth whose motorcycle has become the center of deep faith and devotion.
The story behind the temple dates back to 1988, when Om Singh Rathore tragically lost his life in a road accident at this very spot. After the accident, his Royal Enfield Bullet was taken to the police station, but it mysteriously returned to the site on its own. This incident reportedly happened multiple times, leading locals to believe in a divine presence. Eventually, a shrine was built around the motorcycle, and Om Singh Rathore came to be worshipped as Om Banna, a guardian spirit believed to protect travelers.
Today, the temple features the original Bullet motorcycle placed under a glass case, adorned with garlands, incense, and offerings. Travelers, especially long-distance drivers and bikers, stop here to seek blessings for a safe journey. Devotees offer liquor, flowers, and prayers, following a unique local tradition that reflects strong folk beliefs.
The temple has become a popular stopover for tourists traveling between Pali and Jodhpur. Its roadside location, spiritual aura, and intriguing legend attract visitors from across India. The surrounding area is simple yet lively, with small stalls selling prasad and souvenirs.
Beyond religion, Om Banna Temple represents the deep-rooted folk culture of Rajasthan, where faith blends seamlessly with everyday life. A visit here offers not only blessings but also a glimpse into the region’s unique traditions and beliefs, making it a memorable experience for travelers.
