Har Ki Pauri, meaning “Steps of Lord Shiva,” is the most sacred ghat in Haridwar and one of India’s holiest pilgrimage sites. Located along the banks of the River Ganga, it is believed that Lord Vishnu left his footprint on a stone here. Every evening, the famous Ganga Aarti lights up the atmosphere as priests chant hymns, oil lamps float on the river, and devotees gather in large numbers to offer prayers. The sight of flickering diyas reflecting on the flowing Ganges is truly mesmerizing. Har Ki Pauri is not just a spiritual spot but also a symbol of Haridwar’s divine charm and eternal faith.
