Kainchi Dham is a peaceful and spiritually powerful ashram located near Bhowali in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. Surrounded by dense pine forests, gentle hills and the soothing flow of the Kosi River, this sacred place is closely associated with Neem Karoli Baba, one of India’s most respected saints. The ashram was established in 1962 by Maharaj ji, and since then, it has become a major spiritual centre visited by devotees from India and across the world.

The word “Kainchi” comes from the unique shape of the two sharp hairpin bends on the road where the ashram stands. The peaceful environment, fresh mountain air and natural beauty make this place ideal for meditation and inner peace. Devotees believe that the energy of Neem Karoli Baba can still be strongly felt here, offering comfort, clarity and deep spiritual connection.

Kainchi Dham is also well known because many famous personalities have visited it over the years to seek blessings and guidance. Thousands of devotees attend the annual Bhandara held every year on 15 June, which marks the establishment day of the ashram. On this day, the ashram comes alive with prayers, chanting and the distribution of prasad.

Inside the ashram complex, you will find temples dedicated to Hanuman ji, Neem Karoli Baba, and other deities. Photography is not allowed inside, which helps maintain the calm and discipline of the place. Whether you are seeking peace, blessings, or simply want to experience the spiritual aura of the Himalayas, Kainchi Dham offers a unique atmosphere that touches the heart of every visitor.
