Jim Corbett National Park: Best Time to Visit & Zone Guide
Jim Corbett National Park Travel Guide
You heard about many national parks, but this place is different. It is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, surrounded by valleys, rivers, and dense forest. The mix of nature and wildlife here is something
else. It does not feel like just a park
Jim Corbett National Park is named after Jim Corbett, a hunter and conservationist who later helped protect wildlife. The park was established in 1936 and covers around 1,300 square kilometres
I started my Jim Corbett safari in an open jeep with a guide who knows every corner of the forest. As our jeep slowly moved through the dense trees. A few rabbits quickly crossed the path in front of us.
Then suddenly, I heard a strange alert call. It sounded like whispering at first. Our guide immediately said, “There might be a tiger nearby.” He explained that monkeys and deer often give warning calls when
they see a predator.
Within seconds, the deer that were calmly grazing nearby became alert. The calls became louder. Our jeep stopped. Everyone quietly took out their cameras, hoping for a glimpse.
From the tall yellow grass, I saw something move. Two small ears appeared first. And then, in one quick moment, a tiger jumped out and tried to attack a deer. For a few seconds, nobody spoke. It felt unreal
The tiger had powerful teeth, sharp eyes like a big version of a cat. But the deer reacted. It ran toward the forest and took a sharp turn. It managed to escape.
After that intense moment, we continued our safari. Later, we stopped near the canteen area, ordered some Maggi and chai, and sat by a river .Saw a group of elephants came near the water. There was even a
baby elephant playing and splashing around.
That whole experience is hard to explain in words. You really have to be there to feel it. If you get the chance, go at least once.
Let me break down the important information in simple words so you can plan your trip without confusion.
