It’s one of those places in Jodhpur that people don’t talk about much, even though it has a much older story behind it.

What You Actually See Inside

This is where expectations matter.

It’s not a place where you rush from one point to another.

These are the highlight — tall, detailed, and built in red sandstone.They don’t look like the usual domes — more like temple-style structures, which makes them stand out

You’ll notice a cluster of old Mandore temples, some still active, some more historical than functional.

Large green areas where people sit, walk, or just slow down for a bit.

Don’t expect a complete fort. It’s more of a reminder that something bigger once stood here.

A Small Moment That Stayed With Me

At one point, I just sat near one of the cenotaphs without doing anything.
No photos, no movement.
A few monkeys were jumping across the structures, and there was this soft evening light hitting the red stone.
Nothing dramatic happened.
But that quiet moment — that’s what I remember more than anything else.

This place is more about experience than activities.

Still, you can:

• Walk through cenotaph structures slowly

• Sit and relax in quieter corners

• Check out the nearby fort remains

The less you rush, the more you notice.

• Avoid interacting with monkeys

• Wear comfortable shoes

• Don’t expect heavy tourist facilities

• Keep at least 1–1.5 hours

Also, don’t compare it directly with forts. It’s a completely different kind of place.

Should You Add It to Your Plan?

If your trip is already tight, you might feel like skipping it.
But if you have even a little flexibility, adding Mandore changes the pace of your Jodhpur trip.
It balances out the crowded places.
Some travelers prefer covering it along with Mehrangarh and Jaswant Thada in one planned route to save time and effort.

Final Thought (The One I Didn’t Expect)

I almost skipped this place.
And honestly, if I had, I wouldn’t have even realized what I missed.
It’s not the kind of place that shouts for attention.
But if you give it time, it quietly stays with you longer than expected.
