Itimad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb, often called the “Baby Taj,” is one of Agra’s most exquisite Mughal monuments. Built between 1622 and 1628 by Nur Jahan for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, this tomb marks a turning point in Mughal architecture. It was the first structure in India made entirely of white marble, decorated with intricate inlay work, floral patterns, and delicate lattice screens. Surrounded by peaceful gardens along the Yamuna River, Itimad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb reflects both Persian and Indian design influences and is considered a forerunner to the grand Taj Mahal.
