About Guptkashi

Guptkashi is a serene Himalayan town located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, on the way to the sacred shrine of Kedarnath Temple. Nestled at an altitude of around 1,319 meters, Guptkashi is surrounded by lush green valleys and offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped Chaukhamba peaks.

The town holds great religious significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that Lord Shiva hid here from the Pandavas, which is why the place is called “Gupt” (hidden) Kashi. The famous Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnarishwar Temple are major attractions, drawing pilgrims throughout the year.

Guptkashi also serves as an important stopover for travelers heading to Kedarnath. With its peaceful environment, spiritual vibe, and scenic Himalayan beauty, it is not only a religious destination but also a perfect place for nature lovers and photographers. The pleasant weather during summer and clear mountain views make it an ideal halt for pilgrims and tourists alike.
